About Dorothy Cashen

Dorothy has been interested in Art and Nature from a young age. Although she won prizes for her art at school she has never had the traditional art school training saying that she feels she has learnt best through trial and error and finding what works best for her.

She has had work in the Mall Gallery in London and her paintings have been bought by people across the globe, including the late John Aspinall.

She works in all mediums, but says her love of animals has steered her mostly towards pastels, as it lends itself perfectly to the softness of fur or even skin in portraits.

Now as a member of local Art Societies she exhibits regularly and says her current influences are artists like Robert Bateman, Raymond Harris Ching, Terry Isaac and especially Carl Brenders who she loves for his ultra realism.
